Yoshinobu Yamamoto had dinner at the home of Mets owner Steve Cohen last night, according to Joel Sherman. And Sherman adds that Alex Cohen, David Stearns, Carlos Mendoza, and Jeremy Hefner were there for the meeting, as well.
That update is the latest in a week that has seen Yamamoto met with several teams. By the terms of his being posted by the Orix Buffaloes, the 25-year-old pitcher’s window to sign with a major league team closes in early January. Considering that’s not too far off, it seems like Yamamoto’s decision should happen fairly soon.
