Yoenis Cespedes blast first Mets homer to snap Citi Field slump

Yoenis Cespedes was just 1-for-18 at Citi Field, and said he was “lost” at the plate. But he found himself right after getting buzzed by Colorado’s Christian Bergman, crushing the next pitch he saw for his first home run as a Met for the exclamation point on a 3-0 victory Wednesday night.

“It feels good. I feel happy to get it off my back, to get my first out of the way,’’ Cespedes said through a translator. “I feel like I’m helping the team, not only because of the first home run, because it’s the first hit in the last five days.
