There’s no question which New York baseball franchise has won more World Series championships, but when it comes to game-day eats, the competition is stiff.
Both the Yankees and the Mets have brought in some of the city’s big league eateries for the new season. This year, Citi Field picked pizza powerhouse Emmy Squared, purveyor of Detroit-style pies, to be the official pizza of the Mets.
“I just ordered myself a pink Mets hat to wear on opening day!,” says co-founder Emily Hyland, namesake of the Emmy pizza — with mozz, banana peppers, red onion and ranch — which will also be at the Mets’ ballpark this year.
