Yankees run out Blake Snell in Rays’ hellish first inning

The Yankees ran reigning Cy Young winner Blake Snell out of Yankee Stadium… in 1/3 of an inning.

In their series finale against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday, the Yankees unloaded six runs by the end of the first frame. Snell allowed two hits, one of which was a three-run homer from Gary Sanchez, and walked four with no strikeouts for the shortest outing of his career. Snell entered the game 4-5 with a 3.70 ERA.

Colin Poche replaced Snell after just 39 pitches. DJ LeMahieu highlighted the impressive opening with a two-hit performance before the first inning ended.
