Wright's throwing shut down indefinitely due to shoulder impingement

David Wright's throwing has been shut down indefinitely after a second opinion confirmed a diagnosis of a right shoulder impingement, he told reporters on Thursday in Port St. Lucie.

"It does nobody any good to go out there to a position that requires throwing when you can't throw," Wright said, according to Mike Puma of the NY Post.

Wright added that he'll begin an "aggressive, time-consuming" process to rehab his shoulder.

He said he has no plans to stop swinging a bat while rehabbing his shoulder and that he hopes the injury is just a blip.
