Wright reaches halfway point in rehab assignment

NEW YORK -- No longer the only Mets star down on the farm, David Wright continued his Florida rehab assignment with a statistically fruitless effort for Class A Advanced St. Lucie on Saturday.

But look past Wright's line and the recovering third baseman reached a milestone of sorts. In finishing 0-for-3 with a walk, Wright pushed past the halfway mark of the 30 plate appearance goal he deemed necessary for his return from spinal stenosis.

Wright now has 16 plate appearances and 14 at-bats for St. Lucie, and projects to return to the Mets as early as next weekend in Colorado.
