It was Wright's first homer of this postseason and the second postseason homer of his career, having gone deep in Game 4 of the 2006 National League Championship Series against the Cardinals.
Wright was also involved in a notable play at third base in the top of the second inning, as he slapped a tag on the helmet of Alex Gordon on Alex Rios' run-scoring single to left field.
Gordon was initially ruled safe by third-base umpire Gary Cederstrom, but Wright did not hesitate in waving to the dugout, encouraging Mets manager Terry Collins to challenge.
