New York Mets third baseman David Wright went 2 for 3 with a run scored and played five innings at third base in his Grapefruit League debut on Friday against the Washington Nationals.
"For me, it was about trying to put together good at-bats, and I was able to get the hit and able to get some confidence going early," Wright told ESPN New York's Adam Rubin and other beat reporters after he left the game. "I'm really pleased with how the day went."
After spinal stenosis limited him to just 38 games last season, Wright has eased himself into spring training and the 2016 season.
