PORT ST. LUCIE — Wilson Ramos was so geared up to get going with the Mets that he had the team send him videos after signing as a free agent, and one of the catcher’s key takeaways was that he would be able to help this pitching staff grow, especially lefty Steven Matz.
Ramos went 2-for-2 as he played his first game with the Mets on Sunday as he caught Jacob deGrom in the 10-1 loss to the Astros at First Data Field.
“He is very prepared,’’ manager Mickey Callaway said, “and he was asking for that information.
