Wilmer Flores’ stay on the DL might not be very long

LOS ANGELES — Wilmer Flores is on the disabled list, but probably not for long.

The Mets’ utilityman has a “very mild” strain of his left hamstring, according to assistant general manager John Ricco, but the injury bothered Flores enough to warrant a DL stint.

Left-hander Sean Gilmartin arrived from Triple-A Las Vegas to take Flores’ roster spot and give the Mets an extra arm with Steven Matz scratched from his next start.

Gilmartin entered Thursday’s 5-0 loss to the Dodgers in the sixth for starter Bartolo Colon and pitched three scoreless innings.

Flores said he suffered the injury on Monday, but Ricco said there were multiple situations, including one when Flores was reaching for a ball in batting practice.
