Wilmer Flores goes 6-for-6 against Cubs

Wilmer Flores went 6-for-6 against the Cubs Sunday at Citi Field, tying a Mets record set by fellow Venezuelan Edgardo Alfonzo in 1999.

Flores got his last hit, a single, off Cubs catcher Miguel Montero in the eighth. Montero came in to pitch in the seventh to mop up in the Mets' 14-3 rout as they completed a four-game sweep of the Cubs. Flores had six of the Mets' 22 hits, their most at home since 1981.

"I'm not going to lie. My sixth at-bat I thought about it," Flores told reporters about tying Alfonzo's mark.
