Wilmer Flores’ game-winning HR pauses the Tulo, Starlin lust

Wilmer Flores has stopped bumbling and continued booming.

The Mets shortstop endured a rocky stretch in which his defensive shortcomings were more pronounced than his offensive contributions, but lately is quieting the skeptics.

On Monday, he smashed a three-run homer in the sixth inning that put the Mets ahead in their 6-3 victory over the Phillies at Citi Field.

Worth noting is the fact Flores’ seven homers this season are two more than the combined output of Troy Tulowitzki and Starlin Castro, the two names often mentioned when the potential trade market for shortstops is discussed.
