Enter Jared Young on a split contract, reportedly worth seven figures if all breaks well for him. The 29-year old left-handed batting utility infielder has had an interesting and circuitous path to the Mets. Drafted by the Cubs, Young has logged 62 big-league at-bats for Chicago between 2022 and 2023.
