The famous New York Mets black alternate jerseys were first introduced to the team back in 1998 and were used through the 2011 season. The jersey was used as an alternative for both home and road games.
On the road, the jersey was worn with the gray alternate pants and at home with the white alternate pants. On both the road and at home, the jerseys were paired with a black hat with the classic “NY” in blue, outlined in orange and white.
A large number of fans have voiced their opinion regarding the Mets bringing back the black alternate jerseys, some hate the idea of it, but some also love the idea.
