ATLANTA — If the Mets had an obvious replacement in left field, chances are Michael Conforto would be enduring the desert’s dry heat, trying to find his swing at Triple-A Las Vegas.
Conforto probably could use two weeks removed from the pressure of the NL East race to clear his head and forget the fact he has been among the easiest outs in the major leagues since mid-May. But as was the case with Matt Harvey, after the pitcher plummeted last month, the Mets aren’t going to demote Conforto unless they believe it will improve the position.
