NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Mets aren’t finished yet.
Before departing the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center on Thursday at the conclusion of the Winter Meetings, assistant general manager John Ricco made it clear the Mets still have needs they intend to fill this offseason.
Neil Walker and Asdrubal Cabrera were a solid start for the Mets, but the team still could use a lefty bat for center field, another setup reliever and possibly a fifth starting pitcher.
“I think we have the ability to do all three if the pieces that we like are there,” said Ricco, who added about $11 million to next year’s payroll with the two acquisitions.
