In his first start of the 2025 season, just his second full major league appearance in the past calendar year, Kodai Senga looked pretty damn good. That might sound like a bit much given that he gave up four runs—two of them earned—in five innings, but his stuff looked very good. And he struck out eight hitters while walking just one.

When Senga spoke to reporters following the Mets’ loss, he was asked about the pair of unearned runs, both of which were made possible by a Francisco Lindor error to start the bottom of the fourth.
