The Mets' catching situation, with Tomas Nido and Jose Lobaton in for Travis d'Arnaud and Kevin Plawecki, is untenable.
The problem is that I don't see a solution. I think the situation is what it is...
D'Arnaud is gone for the season, so he's no longer an option. And the best case scenario for Plawecki is that he's at least two weeks away from being behind the plate in a game for the Mets. He's is making progress, as Sandy Alderson explained to reporters last week. But Plawecki still has to regain his full grip on the bat and ball and also will likely do a rehab assignment.
