PHILADELPHIA (CBSNewYork/AP) — David Wright is back with a bang.
Wright returned to the New York Mets’ lineup Monday night after missing more than four months with spinal stenosis. He hit a long home run in his first major league at-bat in 133 days, driving a 1-1 pitch from Adam Morgan into the second deck in left field leading off the second inning.
“When you’re thinking about coming back, and I had a lot of time to think about it, you’re thinking about your first at-bat and what it’s going to feel like and trying to keep your emotions in check,” Wright said after the 16-7 win over Philadelphia.
