Walker pulls up lame on bunt, exits early

NEW YORK -- Neil Walker collapsed behind first base after pulling up lame about halfway down the line in the third inning of Wednesday's game against the Cubs, and the Mets' second baseman exited with a left leg injury. The team announced Walker will undergo an MRI exam on Thursday.

Walker had just laid down a bunt and was running hard down the line when he quickly reached for his left hamstring and hobbled his way to the base before falling to the ground.

Manager Terry Collins and trainer Ray Ramirez immediately jumped from the dugout to check on Walker, who left the field under their aid, although he was able to put some weight on the leg.
