A problem with a work visa has kept Fernando Salas from pitching in the Grapefruit League this year, reports Newsday's Marc Carig.
According to Carig, Salas, who signed a one-year, $3 million deal to come back to the Mets this season, has only been able to pitch in simulated games but could have the issue taken care of before the end of Grapefruit League play.
Salas, however, did get a proper visa for the World Baseball Classic and will be able to pitch in games for Team Mexico during the tournament.
