Though X-rays came back negative, Mets LHP Jason Vargas' CT scan showed a non-displaced fracture of the hamate in his right hand, the team announced Sunday.
Vargas will go see a hand specialist later this afternoon to assess the damage. He was hit with a liner while pitching in a minor league game on Friday afternoon.
Vargas, who signed a two-year deal worth $16 million earlier this offseason, is expected to be in the starting rotation.
