Update: Murphy continues tear vs. Mets with 1st-inning HR

Formet Met Daniel Murphy continued to punish his former team, hitting a two-run homer in the first off Steven Matz Sunday to give the Nationals a 2-0 lead in the final game of the four-game series at Citi Field.

It was Murphy's seventh homer against the Mets this season in 13 games and third in the series. He now has 21 RBIs against New York this season, seven short of the record for most RBIs against the Mets in one season set by Milwaukee's Hank Aaron in 1962.

Terry Collins spoke to reporters before the game about Murphy, the NL batting leader.
