Update: Asdrubal Cabrera was pulled from the game due to back spasms

Cabrera left the game before getting an at bat or taking the field. The team later announced he was removed from the game due to back spasms.

Rookie infielder Matt Reynolds replaced Cabrera and drew a walk in his first at bat.

Cabrera, 30, has played in all 45 of the team's games this season.

He is hitting .283 with a .335 OBP, three HR, nine doubles and 17 RBI, while playing every day at shortstop.

The Mets signed Cabrera to a two-year, $18.5 million contract this past winter.

May 20: Cabrera been a pleasant surprise this season.
