Pat Zachry hit the ground running in his major league career—winning a share of the 1976 National League Rookie of the Year award while winning a dame in each of the NLCS and the World Series with the Cincinnati Reds.
Zachry would go from first to last in mid-1977 when the struggling Big Red Machine matched up with a dysfunctional Mets organization on a trade that would send Zachry and three others to New York in exchange for the iconic Tom Seaver.
