BOSTON — Tom Hallion’s ass could be in the jackpot — again.
MLB officials are expected to question the veteran umpire for his apparent attempt to show up Todd Frazier on Thursday as the Mets third baseman completed his trot on a walk-off home run against the Marlins in Game 1 of a doubleheader.
Hallion blocked home plate such that Frazier was nearly chest to chest with the umpire as he scored the winning run, with teammates celebrating nearby.
Joe Torre, who oversees MLB’s umpiring, is expected to discuss the matter with Hallion, according to league sources, because of concerns about the optics the situation presents.
