Tylor Megil unveils his version of Kodai Senga's Ghost Fork pitch, bewilders Phillies

NEW YORK -- Tylor Megill unveiled his attempt at throwing Kodai Senga's Ghost Fork.

"We've been calling it the American Spork," Megill said. "Off-brand version."

Megill used the new pitch for the first time and threw a career-high 7 1/3 innings to help the New York Mets beat the playoff-bound Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Saturday in a doubleheader opener.

Megill, whose previous high was seven innings against the Yankees in September 2021, gave up four hits and struck out seven.
