Tyler Pill expected to start Tuesday

will start Tuesday at Citi Field against the Brewers barring a rainout over the next couple of days, according to Matt Ehalt of The Record.

The soon-to-be 27-year-old was called up on Friday as the Mets sent the struggling Rafael Montero down to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Pill was 4-1 with a 1.60 ERA in nine combined starts between Triple-A and Double-A this season. He went five straight games (three in Double-A and two in Triple-A) without giving up an earned run and owned a 1.96 ERA in seven total Triple-A starts.

The Mets are still waiting for the return of Steven Matz (elbow), Tommy Milone (knee) and Seth Lugo (elbow), while Noah Syndergaard (lat) will not be activated any time soon.
