Turner ejected as deGrom escapes jam

WASHINGTON -- The Nationals had a prime scoring chance against Jacob deGrom in the sixth inning Thursday when they loaded the bases with nobody out after a leadoff single from Brian Goodwin and back-to-back walks to Anthony Rendon and Bryce Harper.

But deGrom battled back to retire Ryan Zimmerman on a pop out and Howie Kendrick on a liner to shortstop. That made Trea Turner the Nationals' last hope to cut into a 4-2 deficit, but Turner was called out on strikes on three pitches.
