Trevor May has a humeral stress reaction

Mets reliever Trevor May has been diagnosed with a stress reaction on the lower portion of his humerus, according to reporting from Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

May left an appearance on April 11 with what was described at the time as triceps soreness and was later diagnosed as a “low grade triceps strain” after tests. May did not go on the IL, but continued to struggle on the mound, posting an 8.64 ERA in eight appearances so far this season.

After the Mets’ 5-2 loss to the Braves on Monday night, May revealed that he is still not healthy.
