Don’t expect to see Travis d’Arnaud back behind the plate for the Mets anytime soon. After a doctor’s visit on Monday, he was ordered to rest, and there is no timetable for his return.
d’Arnaud received a platelet-rich plasma injection in his right shoulder and doctors confirmed the original diagnosis of a strained rotator cuff. After experiencing pain during a throwing session on Saturday, he will refrain from all baseball activities, including hitting, for an undetermined amount of time.
“It’s just going to take more time,” Mets assistant GM John Ricco said.
