PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Travis d’Arnaud is all in, even if he’s out.
Coming off Tommy John surgery d’Arnaud is hoping that this is finally the season he remains healthy. Now that the Mets have signed free-agent catcher Wilson Ramos, their world does not rely on d’Arnaud staying healthy. At this moment he is the backup, but that could change with a trade because there are still teams out there looking for catching help.
On this sunny day, d’Arnaud was throwing from 150 feet and said his right elbow felt fantastic following the surgery that limited his 2018 season to four games, 15 at-bats and three hits.
