Well, that didn’t take long. Eight games after missing two months with an injury, Travis d’Arnaud is back on the disabled list. If this is going to become a regular thing, the Mets have to seriously rethink d’Arnaud as their catcher of the future.
Now, the optimists point out d’Arnaud’s injuries are freak things; this time, he sprained his elbow on tag. Earlier this year he fractured a finger when he was hit by a pitch. He’s also missed time over his career with a concussion, a fractured foot, bulging discs and a knee injury.
