The Mets may have potentially lost second baseman Daniel Murphy to a quad injury Thursday night, but two of their already injured players took another step toward the big leagues.
Second baseman Dilson Herrera was 1-for-3 with a double and two strikeouts, and catcher Travis d'Arnaud went 1-for-2 with a walk for Single-A Advanced St. Lucie during a 3-2 loss to Palm Beach on Thursday.
Herrera, recovering from a left middle fingertip fracture, was playing in his first rehab game. Originally on the disabled list with a fractured hand, d'Arnaud suffered a bone bruise on his wrist during his initial rehab assignment and was shut down for a few days.
