NEW YORK -- New York Mets catcher Travis d’Arnaud’s absence apparently will be for a significant period.
D'Arnaud is working out with his own physical therapist/trainer at home in California and the Mets are uncertain when he will resume throwing a baseball, general manager Sandy Alderson said Tuesday.
D'Arnaud landed on the disabled list on April 26 with what was labeled a right rotator cuff strain. He tried to resume throwing on May 7 at the Mets' complex in Port St. Lucie, Florida, but was dispatched to New York for another examination with team doctors after discomfort resurfaced.
