In 12 postseason starts, and two relief appearances, Bumgarner has a 2.14 ERA through 88.1 innings pitched, including two shutouts.
"He's extremely aggressive," Mets manager Terry Collins said Tuesday. "He's extremely competitive. He doesn't pitch around anybody. He goes after everybody he ever faces, and therefore, you better be ready, because you're going to get something to hit, and you better do some damage with it."
Bumgarner has a 1.80 ERA in six regular-season starts during his career against the Mets, and he has not allowed a run in his last 18 innings pitching in Citi Field.
