As had been feared by those who have been watching the weather forecasts all week, today’s series finale between the Mets and Phillies has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a single admission doubleheader on June 25th at 4:10pm.
The Mets were looking to do something they had never done before: in the history of the franchise, they have never swept a four-game series from the Phillies at home. They will get a second shot at that goal when the Phillies return in late June.
Jacob deGrom will now likely start tomorrow night’s game in Colorado, where the weather report looks equally bleak, with snow in the forecast for earlier in the day.
