Today in '86: The ticker tape parade

My inbox and Twitter feed are cluttered with questions about Yoenis Cespedes, what the Mets are doing, what they plan to do, and what I want them to do.

Here are my answers to the five most common questions...

1) What does Cespedes want, and what will the Mets offer?

I've heard the Mets are interested in keeping him for four years, preferably around $25 million a season. Multiple reports indicate he wants at least five years, maybe as many as six, while averaging around $30 million a season. Obviously, this is why he and the Mets couldn't agree on a contract extension and why he's opting out.
