The last time Jacob deGrom pitched for the Mets, he looked more like (I have nothing here as there aren't many people named Jacob; I was gonna go with Lawrence-Hilton Jacobs but he's pretty cool). He was awful, getting smacked around by the Yankees, snapping the Mets' 11 game-streak.
Thursday, with his big Garden Gnome day just two days away, he will face the Nats trying to snap a Mets' skid. He's also doing against the Nats, who seemingly have turned their season around with a big win the other night in Atlanta.
As a matter of fact, the Nats are in for four games, and while most everyone else will be watching the draft and the Rangers and the Nets (just seeing if you're still reading) this weekend, this is quite a huge series to start the month of May.
