Chris Young really wanted to view the Subway Series with his current team, the Yankees, as a means to redemption and revenge against his former team, the Mets.
But he can’t.
“I wish it did,” Young said at Yankee Stadium Friday before the Yankees’ 6-1 win over the Mets in possibly the most hyped, most interesting Subway Series ever — or at least since the last one. “I wish I had this fire burning within me to want to go and hit four homers today. I just want to do out and play my game.”
Young, who didn’t get an at-bat Friday but came into the game for Carlos Beltran as a defensive replacement, signed a one-year, $7.
