Thor’s legend begins with Noah Syndergaard ticking off a donkey

LOS ANGELES — A donkey, yes a donkey, knew about the Legend of Thor long before Noah Syndergaard was even called Thor.

The legend reached a crescendo Wednesday night in the Mets’ 4-3 win over the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium. Thor used his hammer — a Rawlings ash bat, Joe Mauer77 model, 34 inches, 31.5 ounces — to smash two massive home runs. He also pitched eight innings for the win.

The exit velo on his first home run was 104.3 mph; the second, a three-run blast, was 103.5. Thor throws 100 and hits 100.
