SAN DIEGO - Thor got hammered Tuesday night.
The big, young right-hander Noah Syndergaard was hit hard and chased early as the Mets fell to the Padres 7-2 at Petco Park.
Syndergaard, the rookie prospect nicknamed Thor, allowed a career-highs of seven runs and 10 hits. He also notched a career-high 10 strikeouts, his first double-digit strike-out game, and did not walk a batter in just four innings.
That snapped a two-game win streak for the Mets (29-24), who fell a half-game behind the Nationals in the NL East with the loss.
