CINCINNATI — Adam Duvall restored order to the Reds universe, on a day the Mets couldn’t bat in order correctly.
AJ Ramos’ fourth pitch of the 10th inning was deposited into the left-field seats by Duvall, sending the Mets to a 2-1 loss Wednesday at Great American Ball Park in the series rubber game.
Robert Gsellman and Seth Lugo had combined for three innings of scoreless relief before Ramos surrendered the walkoff.
Chaos ruled in the bottom of the first, following Asdrubal Cabrera’s two-out double. As Jay Bruce stepped into the batter’s box, plate umpire Gabe Morales ruled the Mets had batted out of order and declared the inning over.
