This isn’t the first time the Mets have turned on reporters

Here’s a look at other times Mets players and officials have snapped at members of the media:

April 1993

Eddie Murray and Bobby Bonilla confronted Daily News reporter Bob Klapisch about a book “The Worst Team Money Could Buy,” written by Klapisch and former Post beat writer John Harper, about the Mets’ disastrous 1992-93 season. Bonilla at one point had to be restrained by team PR director Jay Horwitz. Bonilla, who grew up in New York City, infamously told Klapisch, “’I’ll hurt you. I’ll show you The Bronx.”

July 1993

Pitcher Bret Saberhagen used a water gun to splatter three reporters with bleach.
