The Mets will play their final games ever this weekend at Turner Field, when they begin a three-game series tomorrow night against the Braves at 7:35 pm. Thankfully, the Braves will be moving to a new stadium in Cobb County, Georgia, next season.
To say I am happy to see this ballpark go would be an understatement. It has been home to countless painful, demoralizing memories for Mets fans. There was a point in the late 90s when I was convinced Turner Field was trying to make me hate baseball.
