There is crying in baseball, and that doesn’t make you a wiener

I completely forgive you, Wilmer Flores. All of those out there making fun of the Mets shortstop for having himself a little on-field weepy the other night should ask themselves: How would you feel if you thought you were about to be forced to move to Milwaukee?

Crying, under the circumstances, was an amazing act of self-control. It would have been understandable if Flores had gone all Torii Hunter and started throwing his clothes all over the field.

But athletes cry all the time. Peyton Manning cried when he learned he was being cut loose after 14 years with the Indianapolis Colts.
