But it also has been one key to the ridiculous success of Cubs stud right-hander Jake Arrieta, who faces the Mets in Game 2 of the NLCS Sunday at Citi Field.
“It’s developed over the course of several years,” Arrieta said Saturday before his Cubs fell 4-2 in Game 1. “The consistency mechanically is really where that pitch started to flourish, being able to repeat the same delivery, same arm slot on a pretty regular basis.
