The offense has struggled, but there's reason to be optimistic

There's no need to panic. Sure, if you want to nitpick, the Mets were aided by an error from Marlins catcher JT Realmuto in a three-run first inning Sunday en route to a 5-2 victory.

And, yes, the Mets rank last in the National League in batting average (.200) and on-base percentage (.271) and second-to-last in slugging percentage (.325) with one week of the season in the books. Yet it would be foolish to sound the alarm bells simply because the Mets had a quiet first week at the plate, despite posting a 3-3 record against the Braves and Marlins.
