This was a World Series clown show for the Mets.
Defense wins championships. Loses them, too.
The Mets blew a 2-0 ninth-inning lead Sunday night, allowing the tying run to score on a terrible throw home from first baseman Lucas Duda.
The Royals then scored five runs against Addison Reed in the 12th to grab a 7-2 win and their first World Series title since 1985 and only the second in franchise history, winning four games to one.
In that 12th inning, Daniel Murphy the goat in Game 4, made another critical error.
The defense that let the Mets down.
