The Mets are trying to find a trade for recently DFA'd Matt Harvey, and several teams are exploring the possibility.
Here's the current landscape, from major league sources: Texas assistant pitching coach Dan Warthen is encouraging his front office to consider Harvey. Warthen, who was the longtime Mets' pitching coach, has been a fan since Harvey's prospect days.
The Seattle Mariners also have some interest in Harvey, per major league sources. Despite speculation to the contrary, the Baltimore Orioles are not likely interested, sources say. The O's checked in on Harvey over the winter, and the Mets called them again within the past few weeks -- before designating Harvey -- and found little interest.
